WHAT OUR SUNDAY SERVICES LOOK LIKE

AELC believes that being “Anchored in Scripture; and Sharing Life in Christ” begins and ends with worship. Both worship services at AELC feature Confession, Creed and Communion reflecting the historical practice of the Church.

For each service you can expect:

  • We use the English Standard Version Bible and Hymns from various sources

  • We have a nursery for our youngest worshipers

  • Music is an important part of our worship - our choir and chime choir are part of worship and we often have guest musicians and singers at our services

  • We offer Communion at every service – all baptized Christians who are repentant and believe in Christ as Savior are welcome.

CONTEMPORARY SERVICE

8:30 am

AELC’s contemporary worship draws on the Creative Worship liturgy, featuring a modern take on historic Lutheran liturgy. The praise music is led by our Contemporary music director, Wayne McCrory.  The pastor preaches from the baptismal font.

TRADITIONAL SERVICE

10:30 am

The liturgy and hymnody for our traditional service is grounded in the Lutheran Book of Worship. Traditional hymnody, vestments and liturgy mark the service. Readings follow a three-year lectionary with an Old Testament, Psalm, Epistle and Gospel featured each week. Our music is lead by our organist and choir director, Dr. Dimitar Nikolov. The pastor preaches from the pulpit.
